This newly formed team of 3rd and fourth graders, including a second grader, have made it to the last two championship games of the first three tournaments entered. although they have a long ways to go they have shown tremedous growth in there individual and team development. we are looking forward to the boys future with SBBA.

2008 National Adidas Phenom Camp

All-Stars: Ayonna Price, Jordan Eberhardt, Masha Shtikel, Mackinzie Wieburg (Lt-Rt)

The girls really went down the the San Diego area and flat out showed that hard work and IQ pays off. With over 150 top players from around the United States in attendance the SB girl stood head and shoulder over the compitition. From every class represented our girl persevered through the toughest play the country could give. In the end every SB girl in attendance received All-star acclaim. Along with awards such as; Defensive Player of the camp, Sportsmanship Awards, and Offensive Player of the camp. This truly shows that good training and hard work really means alot when you're looking to be the best in your
sport.

Austin had a fine camp performing at his very best throughout the week. he was called on to take game winning shots for his team in which he converted. He ended the camp with a #12 rankings for guard/wings. Congrats for a job well done.

at the Spring Fling...

This was the girls first college viewing tournament of the 2008 spring season. The girls did a great job competing in the H.S. All-star Division with the a team that consisted of 2 seventh graders, 5 eigth graders, and 2 sophmores. They went 3-1 battling against sophmores, juniors, and seniors. Their efforts did not go un-noticed as college coaches from all over the west coast were very impressed with the level of young talent on our SB team. This team has a extremely bright future ahead.

The boys went as impressive 2-2 in the 16U division making it to the quarter finals. With only two player on the squad at age 15 the boys put all they had into every game. The learning experience from this event will certainly give these boy a boost for there future. GREAT JOB!

07 Winter Jam Champions

The 7th grade girls really step up their focus after lossing their first game by one point after being up by twenty. This in addition to playing the entire tournament with only five players and at times with four players on the floor. The girls showed great composure under grulling curcumstances throughout braket play. They end the tournament by defeating a tough Riverside team in the championship.

The girls went undefeated in the tournament until the Championship game where they fell to the host team Lady Style by 8. It was a back and forth game that was expected from these two teams. Congrats to the girls of the Rotary Style for their championship win. You represented your tournament well. Thanks for inviting our team!

Great job Jordan!

Our 6th grader, Jordan, who played in the Riverside tournament in the 8th grade division was elected to the All-Tournament team. This was a wonderfull accomplishment due to the fact that she has been going through guard training for the ast 3-4 months after playing post for previous teams. Jordan was very instrimental in an overtime victory where she hit two key baskets at the end of the game to take them into overtime. CONGRATS to a job well done and transitoning well to your new position. Continue training hard!

JD Hillis Tournament Succuess

JV Boys Champpions: SBBA

8th Grade Girls 2nd Place: SBBA

This tournament was fill with some of the top talent in the south Puget Sound area. The SB 9th grade boys play in their first tournament of their existance. After months of training and practice the player took to the court to test the results of their hard work. Their first game resulted in a four point loss with a deplited roster. The next game the team came in at full strength and beat one of the southend teams which got them into the semi-final game. The next day they were up against a talented and well coached Puyallup Kights team. The game was well played and went back and forth most of the game with the SB boys coming out on top putting them into the championship game. The championship game wass played against the same team that had defeated SB in the first game, Tacoma Fire. Our boys came in very focused and took an early 12 point lead. After a few adjustment the score tightened to five points by halftime. The second have was a battle of the heart with the score changing like traffic lights. At the end it was SB taking the championship by one. All of our players should be very proud of how far they have come in such a short period of time.

The SB 8th grade girls played a great tournament winning when they needed to to get to the championship. In the first three minutes of the championship game one of their key players sprain an ankle and was out for the game. Other players did their best to step up and fill in the gaps where needed. But in the end it was a championship loss that resulted in 2nd place. Hats off to the team for their effort to fight when the odds were against them.

Overall, it was a great weekend in tacoma for the SBBA organization. GREAT JOB!!!

The SB 7th grade boys played in the 2nd event of their team existance. After an eye openning first tournament gave the boys something to fall back on for this tournament. They took that into this one day event and fought tooth and nail through four tough games to get into the championship game. Coach dustin said, "The boys showed a ton of heart in the tournament that spilled over into the chamionship game". Though trailing in the championship game the boys dug in and battled for their first tournament victory. SBBA would like to commend this team for their efforts in practice and training to prepare for this success.

Congrats!!! to the SBBA Girls teams for success in the

2007 Holiday Jamboree

The top teams in the Northwest region were in attendance at this power packed event( Spokane Sparks, Lady Style, YEA, Tripple Threat, Black Hills, ECBA). SBBA went undefeated in this prestigious event beating the the Spokane Sparks, ECBA, Riverside, and a win against Lady Styles in the championship by 16 points. This was the 8th grader's 2nd championship in three 8th grade division tournament appearances. Congrats to all the teams and players that particiated in a great tournament!

Congrats to the SBBA teams for placing in the

WTA Winter Classic

There were three SB teams in this event. It was the first tournament for the 7th grade boys and girls. And the second for the 8th grade girls. The 7th grader's learned a lot for this experience and displayed signs of huge future potential. The 8th grade girls fought hard in the last two games with the absence of Calah Scott and the limitation of Shaunice Robinson's injuried ankle. Their championship game proved too much for the depleted roster and fell to YEA. Congrats to YEA for their victory.

This was the girls first 8th grade tournament appearance. In previous event the girls have played in high school divisions. The field was full of solid teams the played very well. The SB girls defeated the Rain in the semi's and defeated the Emerald City Legends in the championship by 12 points.

This was a great tournament test for the 8th grade SB girls. This high school event pushed the girls to play at the top of their game. With a tough lost in the semi final the girls couldn't gather enough to prevail in the 3rd/4th place game against a tough HS Blaze team. But the girls played well for there openning tournament schedule.

Seattle's Best Basketball Academy and Nike's Blue Star Basketball is proud to announce the first ever girls Northwest Regional Nike Basketball Evaluation Camp for 2011, 2012, 2013. We are bringing all the top players in the northwest region to compete and be evaluated by national recruiting staffs. This will be a two day event with lots of fun and games for all who attend. Only 60 will attend the September 07 event. There will be light training provided by SBBA along with college preparation seminars for parents and players. Our goals are to expose the northwest region's girls basketball talent to the nation and educate them on what lies ahead for them through the journey. The cost for the event are very affordable at $100 per participant. There will be lodging available at the venue although there are hotels and restaurants available within a 1/4 mile and as close as across the street. Spaces are very limited so register now.There will be a number of pre-camp training workshop by SBBA prior to the event to help prepare players to perform at the top of their game for this elite Nike Evaluation Camp. 8th Grade Division Team- Mississippi State

Angel Tacheene, Haley Parker, Brianna Salvatori, Ulyssa Richmond, Preslee Stephens, Brittany Shine, Coach Stacey, Kasey Hayes, Tiffany Jones.

Coach Stacey had the privaledge to train one of the 8th grade division's Phenom Teams. With not a lot of time to train Coach Stacey began to teach the players how to play within the game. And take what the game of basketball gave to them while working together offensively and communicating effectively on defensive. The player pick up on the blueprint that was set before them and went on to a 5-1 record. Losing their only game by a one point margin. "The game we lost was a great learning expeirence for the girls", said Coach Stacey, "That game they took 10 wrong shots and one of those shots would have changed the outcome of the game". But winning wasn't the focus of the team. Playing the game under control, aggressive, and with poise was more important for their camp evalation. Team Mississippi State was surely the team to watch at this event. Every player contributed in the success of the team. Their play lead to three players being named to the All-Star Team and those three capturing Top 20 rankings in their division. Coach Stacey will truly miss this group of young ladies. He looks forward to hearing from them and watching them on the next level.
